Creating Your "To Be" List

Creating Your "To Be" List

In our fast-paced world, we've learned to prize productivity above all else. Our days are filled with tasks, each one meticulously planned to ensure we make the most of our time. We often equate time with money, and productivity becomes our guiding principle. It propels us forward, helping us achieve our goals and maintain order in our lives.

Yet, amidst the flurry of activity, there lies an imbalance between doing and being. Many of us have become human doings rather than human beings, and it's time to address this disparity. Instead of solely focusing on what needs to be done to increase productivity, consider integrating a "to-be list" alongside your to-do list. This list encapsulates the essence of the feelings you wish to cultivate as you go about your tasks. Whether it's calmness, joy, or patience, envision the state of being you desire to accompany your accomplishments.

There are elements of importance in cultivating patience; it serves to restore balance to our lives. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised by the productivity and prioritization that arise when you grasp the essence of the emotions driving your actions. Whether you embark on this journey today or tomorrow, setting reminders becomes essential, as none of us can sustain perfection in the present moment indefinitely. If patience is your aim, consider scheduling periodic reminders on your phone or placing sticky notes strategically throughout your day. Patience.

This principle is what we strive to embody, whether while ticking off items on our to-do lists or jotting reminders on sticky notes. Remember, the essence lies in returning to the present moment, reconnecting with the emotions we seek to embody, rather than dwelling in them constantly.
